I ran for State Representative in 1986, and I came up 3 votes short of victory. For as long as I could remember, my dream was to be an officeholder – eventually a Congressman. But God had a different plan, and it wasn’t about my dream of being elected but helping thousands of others realize theirs.
I earned my first real paycheck in politics as the Regional Director in Ohio for the Bush/Quayle campaign in 1988. Following the race, I served as Political Director and then Executive Director of the Ohio Republican Party where we designed the blueprint that flipped all of state government from Democrat to GOP in 4 years.
In 1994, I founded The Strategy Group Company in a one room office above my garage. With a phone, computer, and a borrowed fax machine, the company was off the ground.
One of our very first clients was Gulf War veteran, Van Hilleary – who became one of our first Congressional wins and our joyful contribution to the 1994 Republican Revolution. It was just the beginning. For over 25 years, I’ve worked shoulder-to-shoulder with our candidates, developing advertising strategies, guiding them through emergencies, and grinding out victories one vote at a time.
I added to our Strategy Group family talented experts in strategy, scriptwriting, production, media placement, voter contact, digital, polling, and print. I’ve cultivated, developed, and inspired our team, turning our company into the most successful political advertising firm in America. Together, we’ve helped elect 3 Governors, 11 U.S. Senators, and 85 U.S. Representatives along with over a thousand statewide, legislative, and local officials in nearly every state in the union. I always wanted to be a coal miner.
Growing up in a small coal town in Eastern Ohio, I wanted nothing more than to follow in my father’s footsteps and work in the mines. But that changed when I saw how national policies were destroying jobs that were a lifeline in my hometown. Since then, it’s been my dream to fight tooth and nail to help everyday Americans. And politics has become my arena.
As President of The Strategy Group Company, I manage the firm’s daily operations, serving as the head of client relations, lead media producer, and director of political strategic planning. But my favorite part of the job is working with the world-class team here. Every day we continue to grow together, never becoming complacent with our success, and always fighting to ensure good men and women are shepherding our nation.

I began my career in business by working with small companies in real estate and investment sectors. In addition to working in management positions, I’ve served on and led various policy groups and other organizations. After developing a passion for business, I was introduced to politics and got my first start working for a small Congressional campaign. Politics has changed since then. I’ve been at the forefront building and managing a model for online advertising that gets results. As president of The Strategy Group, I am blessed to be involved in politics a business – combining my passions.
At The Strategy Group I provide long and short-term financial goals and deal heavily with the digital operations of the company. I continue to lead our digital advertising enterprise as campaigns shift online. Among other responsibilities, I manage both paid and content strategies for local and statewide initiatives across the country. On any given day I’m helping clients tailor a messaging and delivery strategy that meets their goals. While working with other Strategy Group executives and managers, I organize and implement current and future business development plans for the firm. I bring a business mentality and approach to the political industry, and I love what I do.
Outside of my work for The Strategy Group I enjoy spending time with my wife and our beloved animals, as well as playing soccer and hitting the roads on my Harley.
I started my career helping candidates tell their stories when I began at The Strategy Group Company in 2000. I’ve served in every stage of the advertising process and have experience at every level of politics. Today, I oversee the financial aspects and operations of our firm and serve many of our legacy clients for statewide office, Congress, legislative caucuses, ballot issues, and third party organizations.
Prior to joining The Strategy Group Company, I worked in Washington, D.C. on grassroots lobbying strategies and public policy issues. When I returned to Ohio, I served as the Executive Director of a successful issue advocacy organization, managed and worked on numerous races, and served at the Ohio State House of Representatives.
In 2011, I was named a “Rising Star” by Campaigns & Elections magazine.
I graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, with a degree in Political Science.
Besides politics, my interests include finance and technology policy, playing drums, architecture photography, and traveling with my wife and three daughters. I serve on the board of EdHeads (a nonprofit that provides activities to encourage students to pursue careers in the STEM fields) and serve as President of Fashion Week Columbus (promoting Central Ohio’s booming fashion industry).

I’ve been a press secretary, executive director of a state party, regional political director for the Republican National Committee, served as regional political director in two Presidential campaigns, and managed successful races for Governor and U.S. Senator. I earned a B.A. in International Studies from American University and reside in weird and wonderful Austin, Texas.

When I was 5-years-old my father left his post in the Indian Navy and moved our family to America. He believed in America’s promise of freedom and opportunity, and that ‘you get what you have the courage to seek.’ My father’s dedication and sacrifice instilled a spirit of selflessness and duty that drove me to graduate from The Ohio State University, and join the US Attorney’s Office on counter-terrorism and criminal asset forfeiture cases following the events of September 11, 2001.

I also use Autodesk Maya to create 3D animation. Mayans did not use wheels or beasts of burden to transport goods over their vast road system, they did however use canoes.
One of my favorite movies is “The Big Lebowski,” and though it focuses on bowling, and I went to Bowling Green State University, I am not a good bowler.

A 1995 graduate of Ohio University, I began working in the music industry, then moved on to commercial production, where I’ve honed my skills since 1998.
I understand the business-side of things after going freelance in 2003, then helping to build the studio at The Strategy Group where I launched Brick Audio in 2007, and continue working here today.

It still feels kind of strange to say. When I graduated Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2009, I knew I wanted to spend time crafting and refining videos for a living.
As a student at a Jesuit school like Xavier, it made sense to minor in Theology and Italian just in case the whole artist life didn’t exactly pan out. But since the Pope doesn’t need many ads cut, I joined the Strategy Group Company in 2011.
After joining The Strategy Group team, I’ve been fortunate to edit ads that have been viewed all over the country (and in some cases, internationally). Ads I’ve edited have been featured on Fox News, The Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and many news outlets all over the country.
Outside of shaping the political landscape of America, I love puns, being a craft beer nut (pun fully intended), going to concerts, quoting Arrested Development, and rooting for my favorite teams at sporting events.
I am an editor. Yeah, I think I can get used to saying that.

I started my career working on a state Senate race down in Cincinnati. Since 2016, I’ve helped our clients win races on multiple fronts—from traditional TV to digital.
I coordinate and execute a variety of digital efforts in order to get our clients across that finish line. I believe content is king: therefore, I work with our elite team of copywriters, graphic designers, and media buyers, as well as account executives, to deliver top-shelf and highly memorable digital content that impacts the political ad space for years to come.
I graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. Outside of my work for TSGco, I play soccer and golf, I read, and I try new local restaurants with my wife.
I grew up poor in rural Ohio, the kind of poor where waiting in the car for my mom to get our food stamps from the local WIC was a normal Tuesday afternoon. I remember thinking people with central air conditioning were rich—and if you had cable television and both your parents living under the same roof, you were eating pretty high on the hog.
That was the good life, I figured. And from the time I was young, that became my driving goal: to someday reach that height of luxury, to be a husband and father who could lavish air conditioning and hundreds of channels on my family… and never take another government handout so long as I lived.
I won my first writing competition in second grade. This early victory changed my life forever: being good with words, it turned out, got you special treatment. From then on, writing was my sharpest tool to achieving that luxurious dream, and I’m blessed to say that my words have let me spoil my wife and daughter just the way they deserve. In the words of Aubrey Drake Graham, poet laureate of his generation:
“Started from the bottom, now we here.”
My writing has been used by broke startups and multibillion-dollar corporations. I’ve written for world-renowned brands and obscure underwater welding schools. But my most important work is happening right now in Columbus, Ohio—because now, we’ve got a country to save. Using my words to fight for Christian conservative values, elect good people to office, and protect the American Dream is my top priority.

As Executive Assistant to the CEO, I’m always ready to help out, and ensure Rex is able to work without distraction. I schedule meetings, help with the day to day operations of the company, and take care of the work behind the scenes.
I grew up just outside of Detroit, and that’s where my love for Motown was born. More importantly, it’s also where my interest in politics began. Witnessing the collapse of the automotive industry and the devastation that followed the Great Recession helped me understand how policies can help or hurt a community. This is what motivates me to make a difference every day.
When I moved to Ohio to pursue a Political Science degree from Denison Univerity, I almost immediately found myself working outside of the classroom. From my sophomore year through graduation day, I made the 45 minute commute to downtown Columbus to work at a lobbying firm almost every day. On top of my academic studies, I was able to study political campaigns and consulting first-hand.
Working here at TSGco has taken my knowledge to a whole new level and provided me with more experience than I could imagine. Every day, I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with the best in the nation here at TSGco.
Though it seems I’m always on call, in my free time, I enjoy listening to Motown, reading, writing, and playing my guitar or violin.
Chris is our Production Manager. He brings with him 25 years of experience working inside and along side print shops and mail houses large and small. With ten years in political mail he knows how to get your project handled with accuracy and efficiency.
When he is not managing deadlines Chris is a father, artist, podcaster, bodybuilder and spends his nights singing in a band.
I love visual storytelling more than almost anything—lucky thing I’m a video content creator, where I can hone my craft in digital media to my heart’s content. My job is to create images and graphics that leap off the screen, maximizing each ad’s visual impact so our messaging hits home every time. When I’m not at my computer, you’ll find me playing music, hanging around out of doors, spending quality time with my husband and my dog, or reading a good book.
With over 20 years of media research, buying, and planning experience, I have worked on hundreds of campaigns including Congressional, Senatorial, Gubernatorial and Presidential campaigns. This understanding has equipped me with the skills and insight essential to turn my expertise into a strategic advantage for our firm and our clients.
I graduated from the Ohio State University and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. When away from the heat of a campaign, I enjoy spending as much time as possible on two wheels, in the woods with my English Setter or simply relaxing with my wife.
I work on the media buying and competitive analysis side of our business. As billions of dollars are invested in political media placements each year, accurate tracking of our opponents’ spending and spot capturing play an essential part of a winning campaign. I update our team regarding any new media placements or changes in our opposition’s creative strategy.
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing our work in action. When I see our candidates’ ads on television after a long week of work, I am proud to have been a part of helping them reach millions of voters. During my first Election Cycle, I recall listening to the radio on my way to The Gooding House and hearing the first spot I placed – I was grinning ear to ear for the remainder of the drive.
I graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Finance and a minor in Comparative Literature. During my time in college, I served as President and Lead Portfolio Manager of our Investment Club.
In my free time, I enjoy racing sailboats and exploring the great outdoors on my cross country skis.
My job is tracking competitives; meaning, I track where our opponents are spending money and how they’re spending it, giving our clients up-to-the-minute information regarding opposing media placements. This gives our clients a clear view of the campaign landscape—a tremendous strategic advantage. Today’s world moves fast: I help our clients stay on top of the horse instead of under it.
I attended the University of Illinois for B.A.s in Political Science and Legal Studies, as well as an M.A. in Political Science. I served as President of our College Republicans chapter in addition to being a Vice-Chairman on the Illinois College Republican Federation board. In my free time, I watch baseball, hockey, football, soccer… pretty much any sport I can find. 2020 was my first political cycle with The Strategy Group and I plan on many more in the future.
I manage The Strategy Group’s crack direct marketing team and its clients. As a veteran political operator I’ve managed, developed, and executed direct marketing programs for hundreds of political campaigns, issue advocacy organizations, governments, universities, and corporations across the United States and Canada.
Through the years, many of our projects have been awarded for creativity, and in 2011, I was selected to the Aristotle “Dream Team” for voter contact — an award that recognizes elite political talent in their field.

I’m Jessica, and I like surveys and polling data. I like figuring out what makes things tick, or why something is how it is. I’m also competitive, because I don’t like losing. With public polling data, we have the opportunity to learn the crucial variables that make up your electorate, your opponents, and your election. Polls provide us with key intelligence – an upper hand – and I like that.
When I’m not hacking Excel, I enjoy nerding out about cooking, gaming, and nearly any docu-series. My furbaby is my cat, Todd. My alma mater is Ohio Wesleyan University. My home away from home is somewhere in France. My family is my everything.

I developed a love for the political process in high school, working on various local levy campaigns. That love carried over into my time at Muskingum University, where I received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Political Science and Journalism in 2010. After spending some time in the radio advertising industry, I found my way to The Strategy Group Company in 2013.
Aside from work, I enjoy spending time with my husband as we tackle surviving life with twin toddlers who amaze me more every day. A prolonged stay with them in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has permanently changed my life, giving me a new sense of faith I have never had before. I am currently working on a project to help families during their NICU stay in the Columbus area and hope to someday expand the project to hospitals across the state.

I've worked as Communications Director for the American Action Network (AAN) and Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) - the largest outside spending group in the 2018 election cycle, a spokeswoman and policy staffer in Congress, a Political Director for Ralph Abraham's Louisiana gubernatorial campaign, and a staffer on the successful U.S. Senate campaigns of Senator Bill Cassidy and Senator Marco Rubio.
I graduated from the College of Charleston, earning a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Communication. I sailed competitively in college, and enjoy getting back to my hometown of Annapolis, MD to spend time on the water.

My political career began by working on my great aunt’s campaign for Danville Township Clerk at the age of 11. Growing up in Mansfield, Ohio, I always knew I wanted more out of life—even as a kid. So as soon as I graduated high school, I packed my bags and relocated to Columbus. Working in the food service industry gave me some wonderful opportunities, not the least of which was the chance to meet a variety of incredible people. Rex Elsass was one of them.
After years of being his server at a variety of Columbus restaurants, Rex offered me a position as his personal assistant, and right away I knew it was a great match. Working for The Strategy Group Co. has broadened my horizons in ways I’d never imagined: in the first few months alone as Rex’s assistant, I saw mountains for the first time and was a guest in the White House. I consider myself fortunate to be working for such a wonderful company, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me here.

Every day I come in to work I feel blessed to be a member of the Strategy Group Company. Working with the best in the business to elect stewards for our country is humbling. Knowing that the work we do here matters is what drives me day in and day out.
My entire career I’ve enjoyed working, connecting to, and coordinating with coworkers to identify and meet company goals. The desire and expectation to win is constantly in the air at this company; it’s contagious, and motivates me every day to give my all. As Executive Assistant to the President, I wear many hats. Whether it’s prospecting potential candidates, research, or assisting in special projects, working to make the President’s job easier is always my goal.
In my free time, I love being around my family and doing anything outside with them. My wife, Ashley, and I have a young son, and a daughter due to join our family soon, as well as a Dogo Argentino and two cats.
I am also an avid sports fan. I play in a few community basketball rec leagues and love supporting local, college, and professional teams. I have great interest in studying game stats and players’ personalities, primarily in the NBA and NFL.
My life has been a journey. Growing up on a small Alabama farm, I never expected to end up where I am today. Joining the United States Army jumpstarted my life. During the six years I served, I met my future husband, and travelled across Europe while attending the University of Maryland.
Twenty-fouryears ago, I moved to Ohio and eventually ended up here at TSGco. Though I’m relatively new here, I’m thankful for this opportunity, and excited to see where my journey will take me. As an accounting manager, I help manage the day to day finances of the company, ensuring we can continue providing quality content for our clients. Before working here, I was an accounting manager at King Strategic Communications, and Victory Direct.
When I’m not at work you can find me spending time with my husband on the golf course, or doing DIY projects around the house. I also enjoy knitting, crochet, and gardening.
I’m a staff accountant, helping move the money around to where it needs to go when it needs to get there. I have an Associate degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor’s in Accounting & Finance. I’ve got two adult children and three adult grandchildren.
